Volkswagen ID.4 vs Mustang Mach-e

Mach v VW ID.4

If you didn't know, there are three main kinds of vehicles - gasoline powered combustion engines, electric vehicles that use electricity to power the engine, and hybrid vehicles that change between both. While some people may not be interested in an electric vehicle or may not quite be ready for the leap, there are plenty of great options on the market for even the most reluctant electric vehicle buyer.

At the top of the list for all-electric vehicles are the Volkswagen ID.4 and the Mustang Mach-E. While both are electric, both have different features, designs, and capabilities.

Volkswagen ID.4

Starting off strong with an electric vehicle that makes no compromise to power and speed, as well as has quite a few bells and whistles, the Volkswagen ID.4 is really an electric vehicle of the future. With a sleek, bold, aerodynamic exterior that makes it look like it's from the future, the ID.4 stands out on the road. The LED taillights and illuminated door handles makes the ID.4 shine in the dark, and the available premium LED projector headlights make nighttime visibility as clear as day.

But the exterior isn’t the only thing that stands out with this electric vehicle. The spacious interior is simple and sleek, but still features everything you need in an SUV and more. From the available massaging lumbar feature in the front seats to the panoramic, fixed-glass roof that opens the vehicle to the sky. But don’t worry about the sun - if you want or need, you can easily put into place the electric sunshade that can block the bright rays with a simple swipe of your finger. Not to mention the slew of technology and safety features that keep you safe and entertained while you enjoy your ride.

Available with AWD, the standard RWD boasts a 0-60 mpg speed change in only 7.4 seconds. With 229 lb-ft of torque, 201 horsepower on the low range, and a 260 mile range, you really can’t go wrong. With a starting MSRP of $39,995 and an available $7,500 tax credit, the ID.4 makes electric vehicles more accessible. Even more accessible are the 45,000 public charging stations and growing, with an added 3 years of free 30 minute charging sessions at Electricity America’s nationwide network.

Mustang Mach-E

The Mustang Mach-E is also an impressive vehicle, but one that starts off with a slightly higher MSRP of $42,895, although it also has an available $7,500 tax credit. While the Mach-E doesn't look quite as aerodynamic or futuresque as the ID.4, it is still a good looking SUV that boasts only a slightly smaller cargo space.

In terms of power, speed, and performance, the Mach-E might have the ID.4 beat. 230 lb-ft of torque as a starting point, 0-60 mph in only 5.2 seconds for the Select model and a stunning 3.5 seconds for the GT Performance Edition. The horsepower for the Select is 266, with 480 HP for the GT Performance Edition, all of which is higher than the ID.4

The Mach-E also comes with quite a few comfort, safety, and technology features, as well as a 306 mile range when equipped with the available extended range battery and rear wheel drive, or 260 without. The Mach-E is also available with eAWD.
